IPHA Annual Conference 2023

The 27th Annual IPHA Conference, from May 11th to May 14th 20232, will be held in the historical city of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania.

Betonika, a company in the Consolis Group, will host the event.

Topic

The theme of the conference is: HOLLOWCORE and SUSTAINABILITY

For us there is no doubt that precast concrete is the building material of the future. It is versatile, robust and resilient, has long durability and high material effciency, it is affordable and locally available with ample other benefits.

However reducing the climate impact is one of the most important challenges we, and the whole building material industry, are facing. During the previous IPHA Conference the figure ‘45’ was highlighted and brought to our attention – meaning that precast hollowcore floors use about 45% less material when comparing with cast in situ concrete floors. This is a great starting point and a significant advantage towards a more sustainable construction.

At this conference we will learn more about how to move forward from this starting point, how the sustainability performance of precast including hollowcore floors can be enhanced and more value created for our customers, end-users and the climate. We will hear directly from our customers which sustainability ambitions and targets they have, what they expect from their suppliers as precasters, and most importantly how we can work together in the whole supply chain to meet these demands and achieve a net zero global emission by 2050 or sooner.
