IPHA VISION 2030
A plan for the organization’s objectives moving towards 2030, including how best to support growth in the hollowcore industry, and our members’ businesses.
Objectives for 2030
As part of the Vision 2030 project, the following objectives were identified:
- Growth in our members’ businesses.
- Growth in the knowledge of our members.
- Growth in collaboration within the IPHA network.
- Growth in the activity and time given to IPHA by members.
- Growth in confidence in hollowcore as a sustainable building product.
In order to achieve these objectives, we believe it is essential to build on IPHA’s existing strengths and foundations, including its diverse membership, collaborative “family” approach, active R&D projects, resource rich website, and financial health.
We also believe that there are a number of clear opportunities for the association, including increasing the activity of individuals and members, increased use of digital platforms and communication to expand our reach, capitalizing on existing connections with organizations such as BIBM and fib, and promotion of the sustainability credentials of hollowcore slabs.
Supporting Growth
One of the areas identified as essential to continued growth and success within IPHA and its members was through the opportunity to attend world-class in-person events such as the annual conference and seminars.
Vision 2030 highlights the following:
- The importance of the IPHA family – a friendly and sociable atmosphere where experiences can be shared.
- The opportunity to experience local cultures and markets for hollowcore.
- IPHA attendance and presence at external conferences and exhibitions.
- Networking and workshop opportunities.
- Providing a platform for expert precast industry speakers.
- Addressing relevant topics, including production and operations, digitalization and technology, as well as sustainability.
Digitalization & Technology
Through the IPHA Vision 2030 project and via consultation with members, the conclusion was that digitalization and technology would be central to achieving the objectives set out.
Development in these areas will include the following:
- Best in class digital platforms, including paperless events, mobile-friendly and with networking functionality.
- Improved communication with members via digital methods, including social media.
- Continued development and improvement of the IPHA website with the stated objectives at the forefront.
- Provide insights on the latest technological innovations and trends, e.g. AI.
- Maintain a digital archive allowing IPHA members to access the library of resources available
Increase Confidence in Hollowcore
IPHA has an important role to play in helping to represent its members, but also the hollowcore industry as a whole.
As part of Vision 2030, members were also consulted on how IPHA can help to increase confidence in hollowcore as a sustainable and economical building product for the future.
The results included:
- Continue to fund research, development and studies within the industry, such as technical and marketing projects.
- Leading on sustainability, including collaboration with other industry bodies and member companies.
- Promotion of hollowcore via IPHA channels, including social media, such as LinkedIn.
- Use the IPHA website to provide information on hollowcore to external visitors, including new content such as “Why Hollowcore?”.
